SOUTHSIDE 6 (THAT TURNED INTO 7)

05/02/22 – Can’t believe I got a pic of a highland cow sticking its tongue out! Today I was invited out with Strathaven Striders to take on the Glasgow Southside six. I don’t really know the south side so had to rely on them for the route and I spent most of it asking if I was going left, right or straight on. The weather was grim but that didn’t stop the fun. Starting at Bellahouston park we headed to Pollok for the coos, from here it was up to Rouken Glen for a group pic and the opening of the chocolate coins (some of my Christmas stash). Next up was Linn Park then onwards to Kings Park. A wee detour via Hampden stadium then to Queens Park. There was a bit of a view from the top but not much. My eldest was swimming again and it was being live streamed so I managed to watch her heat at this point (she PB’d). From here we went via Maxwell Park which took it to Southside seven and then the final leg to Bellahouston. The route is a mixture of trail and urban pavements covering 26km and a great way to get to see all the parks.
