CARDROSS TO HELENSBURGH

16/12/21 – Another day out with the girls today using up our annual leave before the end of December cut off. Unfortunately we were two short as they’re isolating. This time the route was courtesy of Gallus Running going from Cardross to Helensburgh. Using ScotRail we jumped on the train out to Cardross. From here it was a gradual climb up and out of the village, eventually reaching a farm then onto some forestry paths. We stumbling onto the The John Muir Way and this took us most of the rest of the way. Up through forests, past lochs, views over to Loch Lomond, along towards Glen Fruin and back over into Helensburgh. Final bit was downhill, passing Hill House under its spectacular cover, to Helensburgh Central. We even had time to get tea and rolls from the Boss Man inside the station. 19km done and 484m elevation. Info can be found here…https://www.gallusrunning.com/cardrosstohelensburgh…
